beetles are cool

a poem by eli granger
beetlesRcool My 6 year old son left me this poem on the white-board in my office yesterday afternoon. Since the picture is difficult to read, I’ll translate the artist’s work:

Eli’s poem
beetles are cool
beetles are cool
they don’t smash even if you try to
well, sometimes they do
the end

I think it’s pretty philosophical, a metaphor for life. Sometimes we feel invincible; sometimes we can’t deny our vulnerabilities.

I love kid poetry…. and just random kid sayings.

My 4 year old came up with this one last week.

She was taking a bath, and was laying back in the tub floating on her back. Mom came in to check on her and she said…

“I’m honey in the dishwasher coming off the plate. It was from a waffle.”
